Kobe was my idol. When I was working on my first orchestral commission in 2019, I stayed up late watching his highlights to inspire me and keep me going. I adapted the motto Kobe in the finals to remind myself

I wrote You Would Too not long after the deaths of my great grandfather and his daughter

It was bold and ambitious and embodied an arrogant spirit in a way typical of young men in their 20s

me and 20+ young Black musicians came together to record the South Side Symphony Live Mixtape 💿 at Miss Tina Knowles’ WACO Theater Center in North Hollywood over 4 sold out concerts

I recognize that our 20s can generally be very pivotal

It also gives me hope for the future that these young musicians are being exposed to these Black American musical traditions at such a young age
